We've all experienced the repeated days of going to school, hanging out with friends, and studying for exams. Sometimes we might just wonder "Why am I in school?" or "Why do I have to learn the multiplication table, writing, and George Washington being the first president of the United States?" The usual answer may be "Because school is mandatory" or "My parents wanted me to go to school". While these are natural arguments to make, I hope you can slowly realize that by learning in school, you are developing one of the most powerful parts of the human body: the brain. Like how young athletes train their muscles at a young age to become professional athletes, students around the world learn a variety of topics starting from the beginning of their time in school. As you progress through education, you ultimately build a skillset that can serve you well for the rest of your life. Not only does learning help you build a better future, it also allows you to become more aware of the world around you. The knowledge that you are building may seem to be simple or even "basic", but I would like to also remind you that you are learning knowledge which took thousands of years for human civilization to develop. (Can't you believe it?!) As you look around for materials in this website, my hope for you is that you can appreciate the work that other scholars have done for the ideas that make students like you more knowledgeable about the world.
